Map & Directions

The RERUN tour to Clyde's Cider Mill will depart from the gazebo in front of the North Scituate (RI) elementary school, 606 W Greenville Rd, North Scituate, RI 02857 (Route 116). We will start to congregate around 10AM and plan to shove off at 10:30 for an hour and 30 minute drive to the mill.

We plan to arrive at the mill before noon. This will give us ample time to check out their fine bakery as well as sample the various hard ciders. At 1 PM, a live demonstration of the only steam powered apple press in existence will start — pretty amazing and fun to watch! Clyde's Cider Mill is a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark.

Shortly after the demonstration, we will saddle up for a one-hour drive to Westerly, with a quick loop through the quaint seaside village of Watch Hill. Heading back into Westerly, we will stop for a late lunch at The Windjammer Surf Bar, located on the beach in Atlantic Beach Park — 321 Atlantic Ave., Westerly, RI (providing everyone is not full from apple cider donuts)!

Please make sure that your fuel tanks are topped off before we depart. There is a gas station and a coffee shop a block away from the school.

Please email John DeWaele at dewaelejpd@gmail.com or call 401-742-6660 by Thursday evening, October 17th if you are planning to join the tour (although latecomers are welcome).
