On a gorgeous fall Saturday, Osteria Peppino welcomed a fine turnout of about two dozen members. This was a great opportunity to exercise our Alfas one last time before the weather becomes too cold for top-down motoring. And, while it was cold enough to excuse the softies, we still had several hearty souls drive their Spiders as intended.

The parking lot at the Osteria showcased many Alfas, from the ‘60s Spiders, Giulias, and GTVs to the present 4Cs, Giulias, and Stelvios. We even had a rare Alfa 939 Spider! This model was sold in Europe from about 2004-2010 and was available with several engine options. The one we got to ogle (a 2009 with a 2.4L Diesel) belongs to a client of Michael Wrigley, who graciously gave Michael the car to use for the summer in order to keep its juices flowing. ;)

And Paul Leone blew everyone’s minds when he opened the hood of his ‘72 GTV to reveal a beautifully integrated 3.0 Busso V6!

There was lots of Alfa chatter and many acquaintances were refreshed. As usual, it took some urging to get Alfisti from the cars to the pies. The pizza was delicious, and the restaurant owner not only spent some time with our members but also led an Alfa cheer as lunch was being served.

With as many spontaneous appearances as there were RSVPs, the Osteria fortunately accommodatd everyone. So, pop-up events will be added to our club calendar! These short-notice events don’t require long-term planning — just a spark of imagination. All members are invited to suggest pop-up events — just let one of our Directors know and we’ll make it happen!
