Thompson Festival

Alfa Romeo Car Corral at the 5th Annual Thompson Vintage Motorsports Festival. Other Italian marques welcome too!

The deadline to sign up for the Car Corral and get discounted tickets is the end of the day on Wednesday, June 20th!

Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) has informed us that there will be a Car Corral for Alfas and other Italian marques at their 5th Annual Vintage Motorsports Festival, to be held June 21-23, 2018. The Vintage Motorsports Festival features cars from throughout the past century — from the early 1900s to the '70s — racing on the historic 1.7 mile road course in Connecticut's Quiet Corner. Visit the Thompson website to learn more about this great event.

This unique race day will showcase a wide variety of vintage Alfa Romeo race cars, including Giulietta Spiders, Sprints, and Supers, and most likely a few pre-war models.

Owners of Alfa Romeos and other Italian beauties are also invited to participate in their own Car Corral on Saturday, June 23. The Car Corral will cost $10 per car and, in addition to special parking privileges, will also include parade laps around the track during the lunch hour.

Thompson Speedway is giving Car Corral participants a special discount on tickets! General admission ticket prices, normally $20, are just $15 for Alfa drivers and their passengers. To get this price, you must purchase your tickets through AONE by using the PayPal button below (choose the number of people in your car from the pull-down menu and click the button). Or you can send a check payable to AONE, 300 Westfield Street, Dedham, MA 02026-5631. Either way, your tickets will be waiting for you at the Thompson box office.

Car Corral ($10) and driver $25
Car Corral, driver, and 1 passenger $40
Car Corral, driver, and 2 passengers $55
Car Corral, driver, and 3 passengers $70
Car Corral, driver, and 4 passengers $85

Make sure to indicate the make and model of the car you'll be bringing and your passengers' names, by entering them in the form below, or in a note enclosed with your check. Deadline midnight Wednesday, June 20th!

But wait, there's more! After the parade laps, Car Corral participants will get together for a casual cookout of hotdogs and hamburgers (thanks to Jim & Patti DeWaele), hopefully somewhere in the shade! Don't forget to bring your own chairs, refreshments and a canopy (if it fits!) to keep us out of the sun. Please let us know if you can join us so we can plan accordingly by contacting Gene Durso at or 978-314-1224. Contact Gene with any other questions too.

AONE member / vintage racer Roger Cassin reports that, once again, he and his team will be there in the paddock, although no Alfa this time — he'll be racing a newly-acquired different toy. But they'll have cold drinks and light snacks for anyone who stops by.

Thompson is very committed to making this a great event for all of us to enjoy. All who participated in previous years have had a great time!Tiny Quadrifoglio
