The deadline to sign up is Monday, December 4th!

The AONE Holiday Party returns on Saturday, December 9th! Again this year, we’ll be holding it at the Josiah Smith Tavern in Weston, MA, the same venue we’ve been using for our annual holiday and potluck parties in recent years. It’s a cozy, old, comfortable, wood-paneled, centrally-located location that’s perfect for our gathering.

Our annual party will be expertly catered by a custom gourmet caterer. We don’t have to do a thing — just show up and enjoy! (To save on the hassle and to save you money, we won’t be setting up a cash bar, so bring along your favorite form of libation. Translation: BYOB!)

We’re striving to find a balance between lavishness and affordability for you and our club. Our caterer will be providing the food, chefs, wait staff, china, linen, cutlery, etc. Your cost will be just $20 per person for members and their families ($40 for non-members), and $10 for children under 12. That's still less than a third of our actual costs — the club will be paying for the rest. Given that it’s easy to spend much more than that at any area restaurant, and that it’ll be in the cozy surroundings of the Josiah Smith Tavern, and that we’ll be partaking of it all with our Alfa club friends, it’s a true bargain!

We’ll also be doing our traditional "Yankee Swap" holiday gift exchange again — it's always such a hoot! Each attendee should bring a wrapped gift valued at around $20, serious or humorous, automotive or not, for either gender. There isn’t room to describe how it works here, but rest assured that it’s great fun! Let's cut down on the number of bottles of wine and limoncello this year, in favor of useful or humorous gifts that will make the "swapping" that much more fun! One year, a member brought two lobsters in a tub of ice!

Our party will run from 4 pm till 8 pm. We’ll begin with hors d’oeuvres and BYOB cocktails, followed by dinner, followed by the Yankee Swap, followed by general revelry. It’s likely that your vocal chords and tolerance for butchered holiday tunes will again be tested. Dress is casual, but you might want to wash your blue jeans. If you have any questions, contact President Tom Lesko at tmlesko@comcast.net or 781-749-9132. Tom will again be presenting a slide show of images from this year's AONE events. He will also have some holiday music in the background again.

Please note that the deadline for signing up and prepaying for the event is Monday, December 4th, since we have to make a firm commitment with the caterer. You can sign up using PayPal or a credit card by clicking the button below. Or send a check (payable to AONE) to Peter Walker at 76 Baker Avenue, Beverly, MA 01915. If you mail a check after December 1st, be sure to contact Tom at tmlesko@comcast.net or 781-749-9132 to tell him that you’ve done so, in case the check doesn’t arrive before the December 4th deadline!

The food will again be provided by Tastings Caterers, who've won raves from our attendees the past few years. The fare is gourmet with an "Italian Flare". Let us know if anyone attending has any food allergies, or has any special dietary needs and we'll see what we can do.

This will be a great way to wind up the year, reminisce over the season’s activities, and toast each other and our Alfas. It’s going to be another grand time — see you all there!Tiny Quadrifoglio
