Thompson Festival

AONE Director Jim DeWaele reminds us that there will be an Alfa Romeo Car Corral on Saturday at the second annual Thompson Vintage Festival being held this coming weekend June 18th and 21st. Our Alfas will be corralled on Saturday, the 20th.

The racing starts at 9 AM and there will be some refreshments and a small cookout to nourish the Alfisti after our parade laps at around 2. Please contact AONE Director Gene Durso at genedurso@gmail.com indicating you plan on visiting so we can plan!

This is the first such AONE event at the new Thompson Speedway, so we are trying to work out the logistics and understand the level of interest. The Car Corrals are being located in designated areas of the property and we don't fully know what to expect. It may be wise to bring your favorite chair.

It's official! The Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park officials have announced that there will be an Alfa Romeo Car Corral on Saturday of the second annual Thompson Vintage Festival held between June 18th and 21st. Our Alfas will be corralled on Saturday, the 20th. As if taking in this event wasn't enough incentive by itself, we're getting our own corral!

But wait, there's more! All car corral participants will be given parade laps on the marvelous new Thompson road course!

Judging by the inaugural year's turnout of Alfas racing in the Festival, we're bound to see a lot more of our favorite sports cars competing on the track. We know that these will include AONE members Paul Glynn and John Feng, and perhaps Roger Cassin as well as others. Come out and experience the course they're racing on, and then cheer them on to victory!

A general admission day pass to the festival is $25 per person ($20 seniors, $5 juniors). The car corral is just an additional $10 per car. Visit the Thompson web page for all the information on the festival. And then click here to sign up for the Alfa corral and buy your tickets. Contact AONE Director Gene Durso at genedurso@gmail.com if you have any questions.
