Airport Day

Chatham Airport Extraordinaire

June 7th was a perfect day so we cooked up something special and here is the recipe.

Start with the following ingredients: modern and vintage airplanes, helicopters, gyroplanes, Airtours sightseeing flights, the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies observation aircraft, and a Stick'n'Rudder aircraft maintenance display.

Mix well with the Chatham Fire, Police, and Mass DOT Aviation Division exhibits and vehicles, the Model A club, vintage vehicles: Corvettes, Camaros, pickup trucks, Porsches, Alfa Romeos, Roadsters, Mercedes Benzes, Cadillacs, military trucks, and a fire truck.

Add in: Coast Guard Auxiliary, the 99's, Women of Fishing Families (W.O.F.F.), Nauset Model Railroad Club display, Discover Aviation Club remote control airplanes, toys and games for kids, fish rubbings, fire truck rides, Nauset Disposal's designer porta potty, and an antique engine power source display.

Spice with a raffle for the benefit of W.O.F.F. and Monomoy Community Services.

Simmer with an abundance of delicious food from Hangar B.

Spread carefully over the beautifully manicured Chatham Airport.

Cover for several hours with perfect weather.

It was served in large portions to over 500 guests, exhibitors, and volunteers who enjoyed the Chatham Airport Open House.
