... Road Rally

(Sorry, but this event is sold out!)

The rally event for this year's Convention will be an old-fashioned "entry-level" Road Rally through some very scenic back roads and byways of south-central New Hampshire.

In order to accommodate all Convention participants, the Rally will start at 1:00 on Saturday, July 31st from the parking lot of the New Hampshire International Speedway, where the Autocross event is being held on the same day. That way, those early-morning speed freaks can get their runs in early and then be able to move right on over, slow down and relax, and partake in what's shaping up to be an approximately four-hour TSD rally.

Our Rally is going to be a fun-type, entry-level one that will provide our guests from all over the country (world?) an opportunity to take in the many scenic roads and sights that exist within the area. The other thing that we want to accomplish is to expose as many members as possible, who have never taken part in a TSD Rally, to the opportunity of doing so, and not getting lost! Yes, we guarantee that you won't get lost, while at the same time the Rally will be fun and challenging for the expert rallyists among us.

Also, for those of you who are also looking to participate in Sunday's Concours event, we will not be utilizing any "Dirt Roads"!

Should you need any assistance in planning or preparing to have your car at this event, please feel free to contact either of the Rally Co-chairmen Tom Letourneau (alfaracer@aol.com) or Steve Thomas (srt@anlytc.com). Tom is a veteran of, and has been running and participating in, club and SCCA TSD rallies for almost 40 years. Steve is a resident of the immediate Rally area and is instrumental in laying out the route based on his intimate experience in piloting his Spider around these roads. They are aware of the many pitfalls that can befall rallymasters who try to overdo it, making a TSD Rally more complex, difficult and tricky then need be, losing sight of the object of the Rally in the first place. As for the Convention Rally, our object is spelled F-U-N, and we promise that it will be, with goof-proof, clear-cut, simple-to-read Rally route instructions, hints, guidelines and mileage indicators.
